I’m currently working on a WordPress projects which needs a forum integration.

My candidate forums at the moment are:

• BBPress
• SimpleForum

I’ve also found some cool BBPress plugins which I plan to use if I go down the BBPress route:

Subscribe to Topic – Enables users to subscribe for email notifications

bbPress Attachments – Enables you to attach media to a forum post

bbPress Admin – Ports the Admin features of bbPress into your WordPress Admin, very practical.

bbPress Integration – Required for full integration between WordPress and bbPress.

I’ll update this as I go along, stating which forum I chose in the end.

I’ve chosen bbPress as it is very straightforward to integrate and has the same styling used for WordPress. SimplePress is rich in features but I ran into some problems with the forum taking ages to load. This can probably be solved with a bit of
