			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>A great way of promoting your knowledge, services or products is by Article Marketing.</p>
<p>You can take advantage of the high pagerank that article websites like squidoo.com and ezinearticles.com possess in order to get high rankings for your chosen keywords. This is much easier than trying to optimise your own website to show up in search results for your chosen keywords.</p>
<p>Some things to keep in mind when attempting to market your services or products with this method:</p>
<ul>
<li>Aim for keywords where the results on Google are less than 5000. This will make it much easier for you to have your keywords listed as you will have less competition to deal with</li>
<li>Use the Google Page Rank tool to check whether the top ranked sites for your search terms have a lower pagerank than your chosen article sites. If this is so your article has a better chance of getting a great ranking.</li>
<li>Search for new services and products to promote, or write about new events, as competition for these will naturally be lower.</li>
</ul>
<p>When actually writing the article make sure to</p>
<ul>
<li>Use the keywords you want to be listed under in the title of your article</li>
<li>Write in an engaging way as if you are telling a story to a friend</li>
<li>Use the keywords in a heading tag at the top of your page &lt;h1&gt;Keywords&lt;/h1&gt;</li>
<li>Use the keywords in your opening paragraph</li>
<li>Use the keywords in your closing paragraph</li>
<li>Have between 300 and 500 words in your article</li>
<li>Try to use your main keyword phrases 3-7 times per article.</li>
</ul>

Member states are obliged to implement directives in their own national legislation. Indeed, EU directives carry no practical implications on their own, but only when actually transcribed into local laws.</p>
<p>Don&#8217;t expect all EU countries to share common email marketing laws, though, despite the standard established in the EU document. The directive leaves it up to each country to choose their preferred approach on some issues. For example, B2B emails require a mandatory opt-in in Austria, but may be sent to some companies on an opt-out basis in the UK. Countries also differ in how they interpret the wording of the directive.</p>
<p>So although the EU documents give you an overview of the base standard in Europe, you still need to check each country&#8217;s local email marketing laws on a case-by-case basis.</p>

<li> Obtain Permission: Always obtain permission with the confirmed (double) opt-in method for online contacts. For offline contacts, update your database with when, where and how the contact was initiated. Confirm their permission in the first email.</li>

<li> Required Information: Obtain email address, name, format preference and logical interests/preferences.</li>
</ul>

<li> Focus Equal Attention on Existing Lists: Implement strategies and incentives to transform inactive subscribers into active ones.</li>

<li> Provide Valuable Benefits: Convince potential subscribers of the valuable benefits they’ll receive.</li>

<p>1. Feature a Sign-Up Form on Each Page of Your Site – Be sure to remember this basic concept. Sign-up opportunities should be ubiquitous throughout your site.</p>
<p>2. Promote Benefits on the Sign-Up Page – Enhance subscription value with sample emails, testimonials and strong call to action copy.</p>
<p>3. Offer Opt-In Incentives – Incentives like white papers, discounts and special reports significantly increase conversion rates.</p>
<p>4. Optimize Your Site for Search Engine Placement – Optimize current and archived newsletters for search engines to increase traffic and subscriptions.</p>
<p>5. Pay for Search Engine Services and Promote Your Email on the Landing Page – If you pay for search services like Google AdWords be sure to include email subscription information on the landing page.</p>

<p>25. Include Information and a Link to Your Newsletter in Press Releases – A good option for smaller companies. Include your company newsletter and other resources in press release copy.</p>
<p>26. Include Opt-in Information on Customer Satisfaction Surveys – Ask permission to communicate valuable information via email newsletters and promotions.</p>

<p>I was recently reading an article about Barack Obama&#8217;s US presidential campaign, and discovered that he is using email marketing to great effect by sending out promotional emails and then using tracking information provided by the Email Marketing software to know when people open their emails and phone them immediately to entice them to give a donation. This is a very good example of why it is essential to have statistics on your email promotions.</p>
